As pensive as a folded flick-knife

Isn’t he?  This is the very first avatar of the puppet Pan Loudermilk, who came before the trailer, originating in the fecund imagination of Al Bogdan.  He sits on my shelf and gazes down with benign interest on my flesh-based gambols.  And no, I am not usually so very arch, but something about that top hat just brings it out in me. Though he does lack a fob.

He’s got the human qualities– and more… What a very intense guy– and a sartorialist too.

I’ve suddenly spotted a fascinating little puppet in what appears to be a display case behind Mr Hyde! I think he’s a marionette, although I can see no strings, and his face has the knowing and sardonic characteristics of a ventriloquist’s doll. Who is this little guy? I like his snazzy suit and centre-parted, slicked-down hair, though I wouldn’t buy a used car from him!!!

Sharp eyes, Clive! He’s a bit of clip-art inspiration, culled from a magazine ad – he was featured as, yes, a ventriloquist’s doll, along with maybe six or eight others? But I don’t know his maker, nor the photographer’s name, alas.
