Amidst the swirl of corsets, top hats, and mulled wine that was District VII Detroit’s “Victorian Opulence” event, a corner draped with black velvet hosted a swift and intimate performance called “Love Is A Puppet,” featuring Jordan Whalen and Andrick Siegmund.

Those watching perched on pillows (and, in one case, an antique wheelchair), or roosted above on the voyeurs’ staircase, as a singular scene of desire was enacted.  And then Istvan made his way back onto the road …
